DAN Basic Life Support: CPR & First Aid
DAN Basic Life Support: one- and two-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants, AED use, choking, bleeding control, splinting, burns, shock, and medical emergencies. Hands-on with real equipment, capped at 4 students. No prerequisites, open to non-divers.
Most dive accidents are survivable if someone on the surface knows what to do in the first ten minutes. This is the course that makes you that person. You practice on manikins and AED trainers until the skills are automatic rather than watching a video, and you leave with a certification recognized worldwide. BLS also meets U.S. Coast Guard first aid and CPR requirements for captain and mate licenses, and it is a prerequisite for our Rescue Diver and Divemaster programs.
