About Depth Finders Scuba...

Depth Finder’s Scuba in Punta Gorda, Florida, stands out as more than just another place to train or buy gear—it’s a welcoming community hub for ocean enthusiasts. At its helm is founder Brandon Wolters, who brings over 25 years of diving experience, having certified more than 3,000 divers in settings as varied as the Ritz-Carlton in the Virgin Islands, the tropical paradise of Hawaii and the unexpected dive community of Las Vegas. With credentials that include training technical instructors as a technical examiner, leading the technical training committees for NAUI, and receiving the NAUI Outstanding Service Award, Brandon infuses the center with a passion for safety, education, and innovation.

His business partner, Rick Landry, a NAUI Instructor since the 1970s, contributes decades of insight that enrich every course offered. Rick, now a retired healthcare CEO, brings his knowledge and experience from the business world to assure Depth Finders Scuba is a world-class dive center. This team’s commitment to quality extends beyond instruction, reflected in top-of-the-line rental gear featuring back-inflate BCDs designed for superior buoyancy and comfort. Free daily air fills, Nitrox, and Trimix availability ensure divers have the right resources, while factory-trained technicians provide expert servicing on all major equipment brands.

Family and community shape the atmosphere, thanks in no small part to Brandon’s wife, Stephanie—an award-winning interior designer—who has crafted a modern, social space that feels more like a lounge than a traditional dive shop. Their young daughters, Sophia and Olivia, inspire an inclusive, family-friendly environment where everyone can feel at home. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a drink, swap dive stories, and plan future adventures with fellow enthusiasts.

This sense of community extends into a monthly social club that hosts lecture series and meet-ups, fostering an environment where divers can learn about marine conservation, dive safety, cutting-edge technology, and local dive conditions. Eco-friendliness is woven into the center’s fabric, with gear made from and designed to be recycled, ensuring that caring for the ocean remains a top priority. For those looking to enhance their underwater exploration, Dive Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) are available to rent, making it easier to cover more ground on each dive.

Whether discovering Florida’s coastal reefs with family, preparing for challenging cave dives in North Florida’s famous springs, or planning an international expedition, the center’s staff is ready to handle the logistics. With expert guidance, sustainable practices, and an environment that encourages connection, this dive center offers not only outstanding training and services, but also a vibrant, supportive community ready to welcome divers at every stage of their journey.
